SNPhA x AstraZeneca Medical Science Liaison Simulation Competition

The AstraZeneca (AZ) Medical Affairs team collaborates with the SNPhA to deliver the annual Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Simulation Competition for SNPhA members. The competition allows students to leverage their clinical expertise to engage in a real-world MSL simulation. The competition will provide a high-level overview of the exact roles and responsibilities of an MSL in the pharmaceutical industry.

The competition consists of two rounds:

Round 1 - Application with essay question AND video submission

Round 2 - Selected finalists from Round 1 will be invited to give a  live presentation on an oncology drug(s) given to the AZ US Oncology Medical Affairs team at the 2025 NPhA | SNPhA National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio!

    • $5,000 award
    • Virtual meetings with multiple AZ MSLs and virtual tour of AZ’s US headquarters

    • $2,000 award
    • CV Review
    • AZ swag

    You MUST attend the National Convention in person to participate in the formal presentation and accept any awards or prizes.

    Competition Requirements

    • Must be a current SNPhA member

    • Must currently be enrolled in a full-time Doctor of Pharmacy program

    • Must be a rising P3 or P4 student (Class of 2026 or 2027)

    • Must be in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher). Unofficial transcripts must be sent to contact@snpha.org prior to application deadline. Please use subject line "First Name Last Name AZ MSL Competition Transcript" when sending your transcript.
