The Cancer Clarity Challenge is the inaugural national competition under SNPhA’s Combating Cancer Initiative, launched in collaboration with the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA). This initiative mobilizes pharmacy students to combat cancer misinformation through evidence-based education, community outreach, and measurable impact reporting.
Participating chapters will select a cancer focus area and develop innovative, educational initiatives designed to address misinformation, promote accurate health information, and engage their communities. All submissions must be grounded in evidence-based practice and will be evaluated by HOPA representatives using a standardized rubric.
The challenge emphasizes:
Evidence-based accuracy
Community engagement and outreach
Creativity and innovation
Impact documentation and reflection
Chapters may also request optional mentorship from oncology pharmacists to support project development.
The Cancer Clarity Challenge reflects SNPhA’s commitment to advancing health equity and strengthening the role of student pharmacists as trusted healthcare leaders.
SNPhA is an educational service association of pharmacy students who are concerned about the profession of pharmacy, healthcare issues, and the poor minority representation in these areas. The purpose of SNPhA is to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute programs geared toward the improvement of the health, educational, and social environment of minority communities.
